The Self-Directed version of A Business of Our Own can be used in two ways: If you are a student and wish to complete this program on your own, then this option is for you. These short interactive educational modules are focused on various money concepts, and can be completed in any order and any quantity.
JA’s Investment Strategies program (ISP) teaches you how to save and invest for the future. The program includes both interactive lessons and an online stock market simulation Invest JA, where students manage their own simulated stock portfolio. The simulation is linked to live data from North American stock markets and is an exciting, risk-free way for students to apply the investing principles they learn in the program.

In JA’s Our Country - Technology and Innovation, elementary school students develop innovative, new ideas for business and society.
JA Our Families explains how family members' jobs and businesses contribute to the well-being of the family and of the community. The learning experience introduces the concept of needs and wants and explores the ways families plan for and acquire goods and services. Students analyze their own skills to determine ways they can support their families. The program also familiarizes students with Canadian coins and bills, while providing a brief introduction to key personal finance tools such as credit and debit cards. By the end of this program, students will understand the importance of entrepreneurial business to a neighbourhood and identify the goods and services provided by local businesses. This prepares students to become contributing members of their families and communities.
